My Role The Drone Major Group is a group of companies specializing in secure software development, cyber-security, and serving as a hub for the global drone industry. I did not directly work within any of the companies in the group, exactly, instead working directly with the group's CEO, Robert Garbett. During my time, I was involved with the creation of international drone standards for the International Standards organization, or ISO. The ISO group responsible for the standards was chaired by Mr. Garbett, so I worked under him specifically for most of the three-month period. I had a few responsibilities: I handled changes and additions made to the document by other members of the group, as well as producing some of my own content for the manufacturing side of the document. I also wrote several background papers on many of the important topics discussed within the document, like drone autonomy or universal traffic management systems. These papers, as I understand it, will be presented to legislators along with the standard document as supplemental information; so the legislators can have a better idea of what they are actually legislating. This, of course, means that they will never be read, but it's good to have my name on official documents as an author. The Office Drone Major has its office in Canary Wharf, One Canada Square, Level39. Level39 (that's the official name there isn't a space) is home to some of the continent's most exciting tech start ups, as well as one of the world's greatest views:
